Large contemporary painting inspired from me camping below it in October, 2008 one week after the sheathing of a huge rock section fell on cabin in Currey Village. While I was painting a plein air painting from the creek's edge below Half Dome, I noticed the rich color changes in the face of the dome in the shade showing what was probably the last "sheath of rockface hundreds of years ago in a warmer tone." I was inspired to do an emotional rendering of this after viewing it from below.
