This was painted on location in Newport Beach showing the joy of the local color and political statement about beach pay parking meters. This older VW pop-top vanagan had it's meter flashing red the entire morning as his wet suits and boards were jutting out at all angles. Never saw the owner but imagined with a smile the stack of unpaid parking tickets at home while he enjoyed the surf.
